How to care for textiles
Inadequate care of textiles can compromise their functionality and efficiency, which is why it is essential to follow a few simple rules in order to preserve the fibres over time.
Inadequate care of textiles can compromise their functionality and efficiency, which is why it is essential to follow a few simple rules in order to preserve the fibres over time while continuing to benefit from the advantages offered by the TTS range: effective mechanical action, high absorbency and low friction.
Tricks of the trade
We start by shaking or vacuuming the mops to remove coarse dirt that could damage both the textiles and the washing machine. Next, we proceed with the pre-wash, which must be carried out in cold water without detergent, to remove residual dirt and what remains of the cleaning solution used to clean. Once the pre-wash is finished, we carry on with the washing, choosing the detergent according to the level of dirt and the area in which the textiles are used. Once washing is complete, we continue with drum or dryer drying, avoiding excessively high temperatures that risk damaging the fibres.
Some useful tips
The drum should never be overfilled, cloths and mops must move freely to completely release the dirt collected. Similarly, cotton and microfibre should always be washed separately to prevent the latter from collecting cotton residues during washing, compromising the performance of the fibres.
Checking the washing machine should be a habit: it is important to periodically check that the detergent tray is clean, the pipes of the professional dosing systems are free of scale and there is no residual dirt on the drum. Cleaning the door gasket after each wash is another good habit, as is regular cleaning of the pump or drain valve.
One last tip
For those wondering whether new microfibre cloths and mops should be pre-washed, the answer is yes: before being used for cleaning, they should be pre-washed in order to optimise the absorbency of the fibres and strengthen any seams present.
